Lolol thought this was too funny 😂😂😂
A South Korean designer named Jeabyun Yeon has created a conceptual scuba mask that will allow humans to breath underwater without the aid of an oxygen tank. It is called Triton, and mimics the gills found on fish to draw oxygen from the water to supply breathable air for humans. How exciting.
Oh my god its the freaking breather Qui Gon uses!
i want one for my research of the life away from people
We had a white belt kid who was pretty bad but owned seven gis, at least four of which were Shoyoroll. Because of him we put a policy in place that white belts can only wear the cheap $70 gis sold in the school until their first stripe, which you have to test for.
We’re not big on nickel-and-diming people, but I think it helps the culture of the fundamentals class- new students should distinguish themselves through hard work and improvement rather than looking pretty.I have had several conversations with people about the dangers of allowing people to wear whatever gi they want. I personally think it becomes a distraction from actual training.
I don’t understand how a gi is distracting. Maybe outside of the white, blue, black colors. But if someone wants to wear an expensive gi how is that taking away from anything? It becomes the same as everything else in life. Person A feels superior to person B because person A drives a Porsche/wears a shoyoroll while person B has a 1995 Honda accord/a bargain brand gi.
I’ve heard a lot of female and male trainers talk shit about the practicioners who invest a lot of their paycheck on their jiu jitsu. Whether it be soap, dry cleaning, or even having to make that extra trip to the laundry mat to wash your gis in time enough for the next class..My guy has this issue a lot! He trains every single day for hours on end and he’s super sweaty so he only uses his gi once before he washes it. There have been many times where he had to miss practice because he just couldn’t make it in time to wash his gi. Logically, he began to invest in purchasing a few more training gis and one competition gi. As of now, I believe he has 4 gis. That’s one reasoning someone may feel the need to have multiple bjj gis.. For myself, I’m anal as heck about cleanliness..and we all know there’s that one motherfucker who never fucking showers before he rolls or that chic who doesn’t wipe off her makeup before class etc… That kind of behavior fucks up my own gis. Whether I am a white belt or a purple… I’m not going to follow the bad habits of others and come to practice with a smelly or stained up gi. I feel it’s extremely disrespectful to my partners and instructor. Same token, I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO WASH 1-2 gis a couple times of week..so, I invested some money in a getting a few more gi’s to save time and keep the standard I have set for myself in my bjj practice.
I don’t make a lot of money, but the money that I do earn is always well spent on something that will last me well into my 30’s and hopefully 40’s…I have invested in two Shoyoroll gis because in my opinion, they last a longer and wear and tear doesn’t become visible until about 8-12 months in. They’re great! And they fit my 5’6 112 lb frame so perfectly. NO OTHER BRAND makes the same cut as Shoyroll for my frame. Trust me, I’ve tried them all on. I’m not rich. I’m a starving student that’s into spending my money on shit that will last and shit that actually is suitable to me. I don’t buy “nice” gis to make a statement, wearing a Shoyoroll doesn’t make me better, or doesn’t make me FEEL better about myself. I leave as defeated and sweaty as everybody else on the mat.
I feel an aristocratic ignorance brewing in all the fucks who want to make their fellow practitioners feel bad for wearing a certain brand of gi’s or having multiple gis.
And Jake, this is not for you, I love you and our radical opinions on matters is what makes our little relationship fun.
the dumbest graphic i've ever made
